We were right, our 5 year old daughter absolutely loves her dollhouse! BTW, Mommy thinks it quite nice as well. Now be prepared,if you're assembling it by yourself, to get a bit of a workout. It's probably much easier to assemble with the help of someone else. It took me a few hours over two days to complete my project. I had to hide it after I put it together, so it's a bit hefty fully assembled. The directions were pretty straightforward; I really had no major issues other than the elevator track being in two parts instead of one. She couldn't stop talking about it for days. So we ordered it for her for Christmas. Unfortunately, it was delivered in it's product box, so it's identity was clearly visible. Luckily, I managed to get it into the house without her seeing it (and it is one heavy box!!). It took a while to put together because there are a number of pieces but once it's together it is absolutely amazing! The shutters and door open and close, and the furniture is adorable! The piano plays a little song which I hear playing all day long. The elevator is a little sticky even after over a month of daily play but I would rather it be sticky than loose. All in all, this is an amazing doll house! It is very sturdy and seems to very entertaining as my two and three year old daughters play with it daily! All parts are well marked and the directions (visual) are accurate and easy to follow. I was amazed to see how well the design and care to details was included from well fitting pieces to the painted screw heads that match the background whether it be the pink walls or the blue roof.
