The back of the toy is an ugly gray cardboard, so you have to keep it against a wall.This toy is just very poorly made. For the way this thing was made, I think it should be about half the price. I'm very disappointed with the low quality crap Mattel puts out these days. After my daughter is finished playing with her Barbies and setting up house, I have to make sure each and every time that ALL the little pieces are retrieved for the sake of my pups. If it weren't for me worrying about my little dogs, I would rest easier. As a matter of fact, I wish I had so many options with my Barbies back in the 60's. Overall, the furniture is functional and the rooms are glam!
